Climate Awareness is at the heart of our Earth One campaign, and we are so excited to announce that all net proceeds from sales of the collection will go directly to the World Land Trust - specifically their Buy an Acre Initiative.
We kickstarted 2021 with a pledge to be kinder to our environment in a bid to reverse the effects of climate change. The launch of this campaign coincides with a recent momentous parallel anniversary - a year in the grip of a global pandemic.
This year, new research shows time spent in nature is helping us through lockdown. The respite of time spent slowing down has given us a special glimpse at a world that once was: quieter, cleaner, more obviously full of nature.
World Land Trust has funded the purchase and protection of 2,222,247 acres (899,695 hectares) of threatened habitat, worldwide
As a studio, we continue to share the many ways that we are working and creating more sustainably from home: from the energy we use, to the materials we buy, and the practices we adopt on a daily basis. We switched off, took action and got actively involved in Earth Hour 2021.
As part of that pledge, we are delighted to announce that all net proceeds of sales made via this campaign will be shared equally between the artist and the World Land Trust and their Buy an Acre Initiative.
Habitat loss is the greatest threat facing wildlife worldwide, and the World Land Trust has been saving tropical forests and other critically threatened habitats since 1989. WLT believe that land should be owned by local people, who know the land, the threats and the wildlife best. By protecting land, acre by acre through the Buy an Acre initiative, WLT are taking the actions necessary to ensure a safe future for wildlife, in a real, measurable and tangible way.
For every £100 we raise as part of the Earth One campaign in aid of the Buy an Acre programme, one of WLT’s overseas partners will be able to purchase one acre of habitat and protect it in perpetuity for wildlife. For our new campaign, our invitation to artists was to create an artwork responding to the term: ‘Earth One’ - to celebrate what makes our planet so special, and be part of this moment in history.
